Goal

The course aims to present the integrated meaning of city dynamics, showing how policies and planning instruments are used to manage urban growth and sustainable, equal, and efficient development of cities.

Objectives

Urban-planning policy drafting and review. Exploring the way in which economic, political and social forces interact in various space environments. Introduction to various approaches take in different countries to urban policies, such as: urban regeneration policy; local economic developments through transport, public squares, innovation and creativity; urban control policy; new settlements and ‘new urbanism’; post-industrial transformations of the cities; development of small business; entertainment projects, etc.
